Living at a beach, we have a house rule - no breakfast unless you've had a walk and/or a swim. Whether walking or swimming, it's not unusual to come across kelp. On the seashore, the kelp tends to be brown and gnarled. In the water, it is a magical waving mass of golden chartreuse clinging to the rocks with small fish darting in and out. Yesterday, the surf dumped me into some floating kelp. It was kind of scratchy but since it was close at hand, I brought some home to photograph.

Oh, this is pretty! How lovely that you could see the wonder in it, and not just the yuck!
Brenda, thank you for visiting "The Baker's Dozen," blogspot site, it was wonderful to hear from you!! As you know, we are extreme fans of yours!!
When I began reading your new book nearly two weeks ago, I could not have guessed that my chapter-a-night bedtime ritual would so closely coincide with your "Daily Question" Book Celebration.
Sadly, I will find myself reading the last several pages of your book this evening...
The good news, however, is that I will promptly return to the first pages and read the whole thing again!!!

It's rather "other worldly" isn't it?! The lines and the textures are so interesting. Plus the color, of course!
What a challenge, I have already started thinking about how to reproduce this in thread. Can't help it, you guys are so full of inspiration for me
