My People
Originally conceived as a series of cut out paper doll stencils, my "people" took on a life of their own as hand painted stamps. Some defied definition and assumed certain imperfections. Others lost their grip and can be seen flailing and teetering despite being surrounded by people. A community can be like that.

I love the way you have some of these teetering on edge and some of them multicolored.
Oh, I like this, Brenda...especially the one askew guy in the second-to-last row. The color and texture and variation you got with these stencils is really nice.
This is great and I agree, the teetering makes it fun. I like, also, that the negative space between them creates a heart shape.
Lovely simplicity.
Nice and fun.
A community is a rainbow of imperfect beings. You have captured this!!
I like the idea behing this quilt. You have captured the spirit of a community.
Wonderful community and almost everyone is working together. The lonely person on the top row makes me a little sad, hopefully that row will move over and take the person's hand. And somebody needs to reach out to the person falling down. The rainbow of people capture all our differences and shine with thier own personalities.
The person in the upper right may appear to be all alone, but she is standing on the shoulders of others. Maybe they have lifted her up. Great job. Colors, quilting, binding, composition -- everything works!
Deborah - how optimistic! You have made me feel better about that sad lonely person at the top!
Brenda, I (like everyone else it seems!) am very drawn to the wobbling (or is he dancing??)person. He seems to be the Class Clown; the one who won't toe the line; the one who makes our lives more interesting and more fun.
Kristen, I love the dancing class clown imagery!
