Sweet Memories

For this final Twelve by Twelve quilt I wanted to play homage to the last 5 years and 336 quilts.  "Sweet" was the perfect opportunity to reference the dark brown quilted, painted fabric of Chocolate and the lollipops from my Lollipop Forest quilt.  12 Lollipops are for the "12" theme (and of course the 12 of us) and the colors are from each of the colorplay palettes.  Laying out the quilt, I was a bit worried about how the colors would play together. Now that I'm finished, the quilt is growing on me.   It may not be my favorite artistically, but it warms my heart to think of everything this quilt represents.  This certainly is a bittersweet challenge!

The chocolate background does a great job of harmonizing all those lollipop colors. Just like in real life, chocolate makes everything better. :-) I love the sentiment behind this fun quilt too.

Nikki,
I agree with Karen -- that chocolate brown ties those colors well together! And I love how this references your past quilts and even our color challenges! This has such a happy energy. I love the buttons, too!

They look like those fuzzy bats and balls kids have such fun with! A Happy quit.

I want the Lorikeet Lollipop. No, wait, the Chartreuse one...or maybe the Orange one. Then again, I've never had a Rusty Lollipop before and Eggplant might be a whole new flavour sensation. How many lollipops can I get for 12 cents?

What a great idea! I love the colors and how this developed. Very sweet! The chartreuse lolly is mine, btw!

What a lovely way to interpret the sweet theme. The lollipops are so vibrant on the chocolate background. It reminds me of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory!!!

All these lollipops look yummy. I think I'll have the blue one.
Lovely idea Nikki.

I see us all in there, but the quilt is pure "Nikki"! Every piece you have done has been sweet—filled with your calm, sweet, always positive spirit! The perfect reflection of all your work.

What a fun idea to include our 12 color palettes as lollipops! I just love that. This quilt has so much movement and energy. Fabulous.
