you are part of our community so we are loving this opportunity to get to know you better - it's so much fun to read everyone's comments, those from old friends and also those from people we haven't yet met.
The most common jumping-off point for me when making a new quilt is the palette that I will use for that quilt. Colour constantly thrills and inspires me. So my question for you is this -
If you could pick our next Colourplay challenge, what palette or colour would it be?

I've been wondering what you all would do with basic black and white, or maybe black, white, and red.
What a wonderful giveaway! I too love love love colour. My response to your question is green and a rainbow! whilst green is not necessarily my favourite colour, I tend to gravitate towards green as a starting point and then expland on it with a whole rainbow of other colours. Green goes with any other colour too!
Your work is beautiful and oh so inspiring, can't wait to get my hands on the book!
I would go retro with the navy/turquoise/lime or red/orange/pink of the 70's, although not all of your group would remember those days.
I too would like to see Black, [Gray] and White, OR Black, Red and White.

I can envision purples, lime greens and pinks. How Spring time cheery. I love this tree with all the colorful leaves and I do think that is the tree I fell from since I love all colors. I still want to win your 12x12 book. :o)
I love all bright colors, but what about throwing in a checkerboard fabric or something with a distinct pattern with 2 or 3 colors. I have a picture of a river beside my computor...so blue green and brown. Calm, please.
Right now I've been thinking about oranges lately - probably monochromatic since I'm that kind of person
Greens - there are so many of them!!
Mauve, taupe and navy might be an interesting challenge.
I would love to see orange and turquoise. The book looks wonderful!
Usually I like my colors _strong_ and saturated ... but I am finding myself drawn to the Japanese taupe style prints available from Daiwabo and similar fabric companies. I think it might be a real challenge to work with 'neutral' colors to create meaningful art, myself!

I would love to see aubergine, gray and olive green together in one of your colourplays.
I am not a quilter--I read you folks for ideas. Since you love all colors, how about going for a type, concept or feeling when its your time to choose? Say, metallic, white space, opalescent/iridescent? That would open things up and perhaps give you folks an idea of how to transition to a third theme.
I'm currently collecting colourways from paintings etc to try to develop and expand my own sense of colour. 2 recent favourites are
purple/skyblue/mustard yellow/olive green
and
black, cerise,electric blue

I love green & purple together, we had them for our wedding colours, not bright of course but just lovely.
Chartreuse, hot pink, and royal blue. Or something with a bright green. I like green, but always struggle to use it in a way that it doesn't overwhelm. Of course, all the other color ways suggested got my mind going too! Have fun with whatever you choose.
I think I would say oranges. I find myself collecting them lately but I haven't necessarily used them that much.

Orange and blue, a very vivid complimentary couple!
Plum and a contrasting color. I don't know why...it's usually hard for me to choose a single color, but tonight I'm feeling very "plummy".
Ooh, I would love to see chartreuse and cherry or a brighter version: lime green and raspberry....maybe lime green and vermillion??

What a fun question!
I love the softer tones of Japanese woven fabrics, I love the colours of the beach, sand, water and sky, but I also love the brighter colours, like teal and limegreen or red with orange and purple.
I'd love to see what you all do with grey, burnt orange, brown and blue. I was going to say rust instead of brown, but thought it would be more interesting to see which browns you used. As grey and brown aren't generally used together, it would be an interesting challenge, I think. The burnt orange and blue would help tie the brown and grey perhaps.
lol My challenge word is reworm - appropriate for those colours...
My favorite combo is purples and greens.
One of my favorite color combos for quilts is red/orange/yellow. I also like the idea of black and white with one color.
Green to relect the colours of the New Zealand bush.
My colors would have to include lime green. I love it and always enjoy how much brightness it brings into a quilt.
I love the combination of yellow and blue, or white and indigo blue.
Yellow and red are another of my favorite combos.
I am sooooo loving reading your new book!!! If I'm fortunate enough to win a second copy, I have a dear friend who would LOVE to have her own copy!

Your group's Colourplay selections are always so inspiring especially on reveal day. The colours cheddar and teal might make a thought provoking challenge.
You might want to look at some of the treasuries on etsy for ideas. People come up with unique color combinations. Of course, my favorite is rainbow! How to do it in a not-trite way could be a challenge.
I would pick black and orange
Definitely reds.
I would give you free choice of hue but say it must be monochromatic. I think that would be a real challenge to come up with something interesting.
Maybe teal, green and mustard or golden yellow.

I love the current choice of Chartreuse but I wouold add to it a purple or navy
A "desert colors" palette would be interesting, especially if you are not doing landscapes. Maybe pick one or two colors and then let everyone incorporate whatever accents their eyes pick up from a photo, etc. I tend to gravitate to tropical colors or high contrast, so working with more muted tones would be challenging.
Black, White, and one other color. I love the brazeness of this colorplay!

purple, yellow and electric turquoise.
I am a colour person so I have 2 themes I am interested in exploring at present, Black and white with just one primary colour such as yellow and also taupe with some lovely soft pastels
