Lorikeet Circus © 2010 Brenda Gael Smith
I was very happy with my other lorikeet-inspired piece Dreamlines #4 but I selected Lorikeet Circus as my official contribution because of its colour and movement. What do you think?

I love this Brenda. I love the wonkiness and the colors. It all works perfectly for an abstracted lorikeet.
Oh! When you posted your pre-Lorikeet reveal piece, I couldn't imagine what you could do that could top that. But this! I am totally in love with this and think it may be my favorite of all of the 12x12 pieces you've done, ever.
I love the energy in this -- which captures the energy and vibrancy of the birds themselves. There's a sense of color amid abstract foliage, and a sense of rhythm and movement -- it's truly delightful Brenda. I am going to need to come back again and again to look at this.
I love this one too Brenda. And while I like them both, I'm glad you chose this one for the group challenge. Perfect name for it. It is a riot of "circus" color.
Oh yes!! This one definitely says "flock of clown-colored birds!" I can almost hear the cacophony from the trees above. Great work!
Beautiful Brenda, I like this one even better than the piece you previewed yesterday, the arrangement of your colors is great
Lovelovelovelove!
Lovely curves, the perfect balance of colors, excellent variety in the greens and subtle beautiful stitching.
I agree with everyone! The theme could have been "circus colors" as easily as "lorikeet colors." Perfect marriage of the two concepts. I can see lorikeet clowns and acrobats in there.
How'd you cram so much energy into a 12 x 12 piece?
Love it!
Sue
Love it! So much fun and I can just see the trees full of those crazy birds.
There was an exhibit of exotic birds at our county fair last week, but sadly no lorikeets. I was hoping to see one in person.
Brenda, this is my favourite Brenda quilt of all time (and the competition is fierce!).
