The Shoemakers Children...

After months of ignoring me, glass wise anyway, Ted has made a Twelve plate for me.  He picked one of my favorite pieces and I think it turned out really nice.  The figures are copper which turned a beautiful reddish/brown.

You can read about his process here http://sanityartglass.blogspot.com/.  I'm thinking his kiln will hold a 20 x 12 size, so hmmm, maybe that's next.

That is fabulous! He saved the best for last.

I'm glad you finally got your plate! And that Ted chose such a wonderful one. I love how it's his usual gorgeous work (I love how he got that sort of hand-dyed texture in the background) and that it celebrates both your art and our group. Well done, Ted!

Ditto what everyone else has said. I'm really impressed by how well Ted replicated the texture and pattern in your piece. Beautiful!

Oh, I love it! This design could almost be our group icon--Twelve Woman. A world of possibility. It is a great remembrance. I can almost imagine someone in the future finding this plate and wondering what that was all about!
