Friday night was the opening of the Del Thomas Gallery at Visions Art Museum in San Diego and I was so excited to be there.
Del is the Patron Saint of Art Quilts in my opinion, and judging by the crowd I'm not alone in thinking that. Several of the Twelves had pieces hanging in this show, and it was so great to see these familiar works hanging on the gallery wall. Del prepared a catalog with a little blurb about each quilt hanging and it was interesting to read her thoughts on her collection.
Lucky me, getting a photo with the star of the evening.

Patron Saint for sure! I have seen snippets of Del's collection on her blog, but it is so much fun to see such a large portion of her 12x12 sized pieces together. I love looking for ones I recognize and love. The one of mine displayed is an oldie but goodie and I'm glad it's getting some time in the light. :-)
What a great evening for Del. So happy that you could represent us!!
It was very special that Karen and a few of the other artists with quilts in TCQC could be at the opening and see their work included in the exhibit of 12-inch square quilts. Ten of the Twelves are represented. It was an amazing evening - it has taken me two days to recover! Thanks to the Twelves for making such great quilts
