Labels on our Quilts
Have any of you been putting quilt labels on the backs of your quilts? I'm thinking of doing this for each of my 12x12 quilts and am wondering what kind of information you are including. I had thought of putting something on the label about it being for the 12x12 challenge, and of course I'd add the date and my name. Just wondering how any of you were doing this.

I haven't done any labels yet nor any hanging sleeves. If we ultimately proceed to exhibit the Twelve by Twelve quilts, it would be good to have a reasonably consistent approach on these matters.
I think we will need to label them for exhibits. I am currently in an exhibit and was asked to put the title, my name, address, email, phone number year piece was made, size of quilt - on our 12x12's that could take up the whole back. I think the title, name and contact are enough - maybe the date. I usually sew a 4 inch sleeve with a pleat, one inch below the top and one inch in from the sides, but since thes are small, I don't know if they need to be that big
The most appropriate hanging mechanism is tricky to work out without knowing the specific exhibition venue. However, I wonder how many galleries/exhibition venues would try to hang so many small works using individual hanging rods? A velcro casing might prove to be more useful allowing quilts to be adhered to carpet boards (perhaps supplemented by T pins) or onto velcro strips on gallery walls. How have a mass of journal quilts typically been hung?
My quilts only have a title, my name and date completed on them. Of the three I've made so far, only one or two have a sleeve.
I haven't sewn any label or sleeve yet. I always do that at the last minute...
