So there I was...

...in an italian coffee house (chain) on the high street in Heidelberg, Germany, drinking my Bicerin, when I realized I was drinking what once was probably a very upper crust european drink. I didn't think to photograph it before I mixed up all the luscious milk foam on the top with the espresso on the bottom and the very thick, velvety chocolate in the middle -- sorry. I can tell you that it was quite delicious and worth trying. Not cloyingly sweet, but sinfully rich. When I "Googled" it, I found out that yes, the drink has been around a while. It sort of ties in to my quilt too (and oddly, so does the coffee company's website intro), which is fun. Also fun was messing around with my photo in Photoshop. I like this posterized version.

I'm looking forward to Friday!

I'm not a coffee drinker but I could be converted with options like this...only one more sleep until Friday (in Australia at least).

This looks totally delicious and sounds decadent. This morning I had Starbucks new "skinny mocha", a sugarfree, fatfree version of latte with chocolate. Very tasty and not so decadent.

But yours looks better!

I have to say, I'm addicted. Mine aren't nearly so beautifully decadent.

You had me at 'the high street in Heidelberg' - I love that street. What chain is ot because I will be in Berlin and Osnabruck in July and might have to try and find your drink!

Helen -- the chain is Lavazza. I'd expect one would be easy to find in Berlin, particularly on the KuDamm (Kurfurstendammstrasse) or Unten den Linden, the "high streets" in the west and east sides respectively (not that one can tell east from west anymore). I'd offer to meet you in Berlin, but it's quite a ways away and I don't know if we'll be here in July -- never say never though!
