Series

I am finished with my 2012 piece, and, in fact, since I decided to work in a series I have finished five of them. I found myself wanting to continue on after starting the first one, and for reasons that will become apparent with the reveal, five was a good number.  I'm not sharing what I did with the theme yet, but I will share some close up pictures.

I wonder if any of the other Twelves are working in a series?

I intend to yes but I have restrained myself from making five at a time! But the one I have made has inspired me to keep going and as I am engaged for the next three months taking two different classes on working with a series I think it is safe to say that more may be forthcoming!!

I am loving these details, Karen. Working in a series... I don't think so. Maybe. What do you imagine will be the element that makes them a series? Common colors, imagery, techniques?

All of the above Deborah. The imagery came first, then I started putting them all up on my design wall adding bits and pieces to each one that were left over from the previous piece. The techniques tied them all together in the end. Can't wait till the reveal

This is exciting! I love that little couched circle -- I can't wait to see it in context.:-) At least for the metamorphosis challenge, I'm trying to make it work with my ongoing, but not 12x12, series The Army Wife.

I am barely getting one finished!! I think I am finally feeling in the grove in my studio. I have ideas percolating. A series, no!

At first glance, I saw a finger in the third picture... So 5 sounds like a good number! Now, I'm not so sure it's a finger anymore! But there's also a ring in the second picture...
I don't know yet if I'm working on a series. It could be.

I thought they were fingers too.

Karen, I'm excited to see what these are! Your tease photos show such interesting textures and patterns and marks. I'm not aiming for a series with these 20x12 pieces. But maybe the inspiration will hit.

By the way, I think you're going to have to make 5 every time now. You just set your own standard. :-)

I don't think I will commit to a series on the rest until I see the themes, but I really liked working this way, so it's a good possibility. Hows that for definite.
