Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef
The Institute For Figuring is an organization dedicated to the poetic and aesthetic dimensions of science, mathematics and the technical arts. I thought about Nikki and the Mathematics theme when I read about their Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Project. Do you crochet Nikki?

This is a fascinating project. There was a show a year or so ago, and they invited crocheters from around the world to contribute a bit of "coral" reef. Crocheter extraordinaire, Hele Jorgenson made many of her contributions out of crocheted plastic bags, as well as making a version of the giant garbage patch in the ocean.
No crochet here. But that doesn't mean that I wont take it up at some point--you know, in all my spare time. Although, I can't say that a lack of time has kept me from trying anything before.
I took a quick peek at the Crochet project. Very cool and worth checking out further.
