New Challenge Groups

We are always kind of chuffed when we hear about other internet-based challenge groups that have been inspired by the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt Challenge. Check out:

• Carnival, the first reveal of the new Latitude Quilts group; and
• self portraits the first reveal by the re-constituted, reinvigorated Art Quilts Around the World.

Stitching Across the Ditch are into their second cycle of challenges and are currently revealing the "Colours" challenge. If your group is has been inspired by the Twelve by Twelve International Art Quilt Challenge and has an online presence, contact us and we will add your group to the list of Friends & Followers in our blog sidebar.

Forthcoming Presentations

Terry is giving a talk and slideshow presentation to two Oregon Guilds:

• Mid-valley Quilt Guild in Salem, Oregon, 9:30 am and 6:00 pm, Wedneday,  30 January; and
• Northwest Quilters in Portland, Oregon, 7pm, Monday, 11 February.

Visitors welcome at both events (guest fee $5.00).
 
Brenda is presenting a lecture Adventures and Inspiration from An International Art Quilt Challenge at 12-1pm on Wednesday, 24 April 2013 at AQS Quilt Show, Paducah, Kentucky, USA.  Registrations for this event are now open.

Terri's Stencil Blog Hop

Our very own Terri Stegmiller has designed 14 stencils produced by Stencil Girl Products. Colourplay Exhibition in Sydney: 7-10 March 2013

What a delight to report that the exhibition tour of the Twelve by Twelve Colourplay collection has been extended to include Sydney.

Yes! all 144 art quilts from this series will be on display at the Stitches & Craft Show at Rosehill in Sydney from 7-10 March 2013 and Brenda will be presenting a floor talk on Sunday, 10 March.

This is an unexpected bonus venue for the Colourplay exhibition (thank you Expertise Events!). Please help spread the news.

Colourplay is also a special exhibit at the Craft & Quilt Fair, Palmerston North (14-17 February); the Australasian Quilt Convention (18-21 March) and Pinnacles Gallery in Townsville (29 April - 2 June).

Colorplay on tour in 2013!

2013 is a big year for the Colorplay Series as the exhibition tour continues to New Zealand, Australia, England and back to the United States to the following venues:

• Craft & Quilt Fair, Palmerston North, New Zealand 14-17 February 2013;
• Australasian Quilt Convention, Melbourne, Australia, 18-21 April 2013 with daily floor talks with Kirsten and Brenda at 12.30pm;
• Pinnacles Gallery, Townsville, Australia, 29 April - 2 June 2013;
• Midsomer Quilting, Chilcompton, near Bath, United Kingdom 20-21 July 2013;
• AQS Quilt Show, Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA 14 – 17 August 2013; and
• AQS Quilt Show, Des Moines, Iowa, USA 2 – 5 October 2013.
