Eggplant Mosaic

Following the reveal of our Eggplant Colourplay quilts, the website update is well under way. We'll let you know when it's done. In the meantime, here's a peek at the Eggplant mosaic.  As many of us grappled with value in this challenge, I thought it might be interesting to see the mosaic in greyscale too:

    Doesn't Diane's night sky look striking too in greyscale!

    I should always look at my work in grey scale before I finish it, too often I pick the same values to work with.

    I sometimes look at my work in grayscale when I am having difficulty with value -- but it didn't occur to me to do it here. I kept adding brighter and brighter thread colors, though, trying to bring some contrast in. I'm glad to see that the grayscale image confirms what I thought was happening! I think the mosaic looks great!
