Here are a couple of examples of rusty quilts I've created in the past. The first one is a wall hanging I created for my bathroom after a bathroom makeover. There is no patina coloring in this one.
The next quilt was a small quilt, perhaps 6" x 6". I had made several of these for a give away.
I'm still thinking on this color theme and so far am undecided what I will do. But the wheels are turning and I'm hoping to start playing with these colors soon.
I love all the tones in the bathroom one! Just gorgeous. The other is so
ReplyDeleteyou and just a happy joy piece.
I bought quite a bit of rust fabric at the Quilt Expo I recently went to and am anxious to use it. I will be watching this interpretation to see if anyone chooses to use it and how.
These are two of my favorite colors so I've got lots of ideas roaming around in my brain.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of rusted leaves as autumn is around the corner. I hope to be able to start working on this next week.
ReplyDeleteI love the second, small quilt. the colors work so well together.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what I am going to do. My brain has not been working. I want to try some rusted shibori on a pipe that I grabbed when Mr C was redoing the irrigation last month.
Thanks for sharing these! I like them both! I, too, am not sure what I'll be doing. When I first heard about rusting on fabric I thought it was weird but now it's making perfect sense to me. :-) Maybe I'll have to give that a try.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing -- these are so nice, and the colors really do look lovely together. I doubt I'll actually rust any fabric, but I'm anxiously awaiting what others come up with -- I'm especially curious about rusty shibori. :-)
