Decision made
Thanks for the input on my two Lorikeet color pieces. After seeing how each looks along with the others, it seemed quite clear to me that what was missing in my first piece, though I am quite fond of it, is the color that was the point of the challenge. I even had an anonymous commenter who said I had gotten it all wrong, and maybe she (he?) was referring to both of my pieces, but I think the first is the more wrong one. So "Night Garden" is my official work for this challenge.

ReplyDeleteSorry you felt you had to choose the brighter one. Yes, it fits in nicely in the thumbnail collection but I actually thought the paler one was a masterful interpretation and got quite excited when I saw it.

ReplyDeleteThose lorikeets are too too funny. Personally, I don't think it's so much that the colors are wrong, but more that the proportions are different. I think Night Garden is the right choice for the group, but I still maintain that Oh Those Colors is the more interesting interpretation -- made all the better by the addition of those cheeky lorikeets!!!
